Our unity and diversity were well-displayed on Sanctuary Sunday, as many of our various congregations got together for the morning (and for lunch!)

Stephen dedicated several Anuak children, and we heard from the Combined Choir - unified singers from the 10am Service, Church with no Walls, Karen, Fillipino, Chinese and Anuak communities. Pictured below is the dedication.

Sanctuary Sunday is an opportunity for all who make up Hobart Baptist Church to gather and celebrate God’s goodness, and our diversity.

Twice a year we host a special 10am Sunday service to celebrate that Hobart Baptist is a sanctuary for so many in our fellowship.

Hobart Baptist Church is made up of several congregations, communities of faith, and groups (such as Meet & Make and Boys’ Brigade), and few of us see the full breadth and depth of the whole church. We want you to be a part of this special coming together.

Sanctuary Sunday will give us a glimpse of who we are when we are all together in one place, at one time.

Hey! You missed a great morning on Sat July 1 when our home group hosted our first session of Alpha in our lounge rom at Blackmans Bay.
We meet at 10am for morning tea, and finish by midday.

EVERYONE had a very positive response - the video is very professionally done, it is engaging, thought-provoking, humorous and very easy to listen to.
Apart from some great questions about faith and belief afterwards, the biggest question was, how can I show this to people who missed out?

The Alpha course taking place on Tuesday nights in North Hobart has begun.

Refuge (Young Adults) will begin Alpha on TUESDAY 30th MAY, and you are invited! This is an 11-week program addressing the core questions of life that each of us face. Why are we here? What is life really all about?

Alpha is designed to be accessible to anyone, regardless of where they are with faith, and to help them ask these questions in a setting that will, hopefully, lead them closer to the ultimate answers.

Running Alpha at Refuge is an enormous opportunity for those of us with friends who are open to discussing these questions.

This is an invitation to the broader church to bring them along!
