Advent Sermon Series - December 1-22

JOIN US THIS CHRISTMAS

Emmanuel: Hope, Joy, Love, Peace  The four words of Advent do more than remember Jesus coming into the world. They speak of what   he brings. These are words filled with action and purpose.

  The words are: Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. And they were carried into our world by Jesus. He calls his followers, today, to continue to carry them with us.

Psalm 148

1 Praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord from the heavens;
    praise him in the heights above.
2 Praise him, all his angels;
    praise him, all his heavenly hosts.
3 Praise him, sun and moon;
    praise him, all you shining stars.
4 Praise him, you highest heavens
    and you waters above the skies.

5 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
    for at his command they were created,
6 and he established them for ever and ever—
    he issued a decree that will never pass away.

7 Praise the Lord from the earth,
    you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,
8 lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
    stormy winds that do his bidding,
9 you mountains and all hills,
    fruit trees and all cedars,
10 wild animals and all cattle,
    small creatures and flying birds,
11 kings of the earth and all nations,
    you princes and all rulers on earth,
12 young men and women,
    old men and children.

13 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
    for his name alone is exalted;
    his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.
14 And he has raised up for his people a horn,
    the praise of all his faithful servants,
    of Israel, the people close to his heart.

Praise the Lord.

"In The Beginning God ..." Sermon Series, until November 17

From Sunday October 6: an enlightening 5-week sermon series.

In the Beginning, God ...The Bible starts with a simple declarative sentence,

“In the beginning, God . . .”

What follows in our scriptures is how God’s story engages and entwines with our own human story. It is a story of creation and love, imagination and joy, heartbreak and restoration. This story between God and humanity is one that continues to this very day and includes us.

Join us as we explore the wonderful beginnings of our story together.

JESUS FIRST: Sermon Series September 1 to 29

Being a follower of Jesus means he comes first in our lives.

Not just our spiritual lives and not just on Sundays, but in everything. In this new sermon series, we will explore what it means to put Jesus first in the good and the bad times.

So that means when we are anxious, joyful, uncertain, unstable, comfortable, or lonely. As well as putting him first with our time and gifts, resources, money and relationships.

Putting Jesus first is not a once off commitment, but a choice to be made each day. The world offers many distractions and distorts our priorities, but peace and fulfillment come as we put Jesus first in all things
